Algon factory
The aluminum plant is part of Propal’s “everything under one roof” concept. The anodizing process at Propal is fully computerized and automated, carried out on a line equipped with modern technologies and is on par with the most advanced anodizing plants in the world.
During anodizing, a controlled layer of oxide is built up that is integrated into the upper surfaces of the profile. The aluminum layer is built as part of the profile itself, and as such it provides the profile with maximum protection, does not fade, and does not peel. Protecting the aluminum profile through anodizing is preferable to electrostatic painting. In particularly corrosive (rust-promoting) areas, such as near the sea, where maximum protection of the profile is required, integral anodizing such as that offered by Propal is the best and most recommended by professionals.
In the pre-anodization stage, the profiles are placed in a chamber where millions of stainless steel balls are fired at them at 360 degrees. The balls hit the entire perimeter of the profile and process the surface to a uniform grained appearance – the result is a precise shade, precise texture, durability and an elegant overall result.
Silk and Pro-Silk Finish
• Propal’s unique Pro-Silk anodizing is a process that gives the profile a luxurious and uniform appearance compared to other anodizing finishes.
• Finishes are available in all micron levels and available shades: Standard – natural, bronze, brown and black; “Diamond” series – stainless steel, blue, green, copper, etc.
Advantages of Pro-Silk
• Uniform texture. Unlike Pro-Silk, matte anodizing does not undergo a preparation process and the extrusion or flow lines are clearly visible; silk anodizing undergoes a brushing preparation process, in which the brushes cannot reach every area of the profile, so the areas of the profile that were not brushed have a different texture and the extrusion lines in them have not undergone a blurring process. Therefore, when the desired result is a uniform texture, a pro-silk finish is the best alternative.
• Uniform shade in all directions. Both the extrusion and silk processes have a direction (the extrusion direction or the brushing direction, respectively). The sun’s rays refracting on the surface give a different hue to the same profile when it is vertical or horizontal. Since the Pro-Silk process involves 360 degrees of processing, a uniform and clean frame appearance is achieved.
