Sustainability as Business Insurance:
The Profal Aluminum Manufacturing Standard
Most companies use “green” as a marketing slogan. We treat it as supply chain optimization. Sustainability is not just “good for the planet”—it is the most accurate metric for energy efficiency, cutting unnecessary costs, and meeting strict standards that will soon become mandatory industry requirements.
Here is what happens behind the scenes at Profal, and why these numbers should matter to you:
- The Bottom Line: Carbon Footprint
You cannot manage what you do not measure. Most of the market uses primary raw materials that generate a carbon load of 10–20 tons of $CO_2$ per ton of aluminum. We do not. Through advanced recycling processes, our carbon footprint ranges from 1 to 3 tons of carbon per ton of profiles. The implication: Our products are the solution for those seeking to meet green building standards (such as Standard 5281) and significantly reduce the building’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
- Circular Economy: 95% Energy Savings
Aluminum is an infinite material, provided you know how to process it.
- Recycling: We execute Pre-Consumer (production waste) and Post-Consumer (collection of old structures) recycling. In fact, 75% of the aluminum produced at Profal is recycled.
- Energy: Producing aluminum from scratch requires massive energy (14,000 kWh per ton). Our recycling process consumes only 5% of that energy. This is not just “green”—it is smart. Less energy waste equals a production chain that is more resilient to price volatility.
- “Under One Roof”: Lower Logistics, Higher Efficiency
Reducing the carbon footprint starts by shortening the supply chain. We consolidate everything in one location:
- Collection and sorting.
- Melting and billet casting.
- Extrusion.
- Processing, anodizing, and packaging.
By eliminating unnecessary shipping between suppliers, we reduce both transport carbon emissions and unnecessary costs for the end customer.

- Long-Term Durability (EPD & LCA)
We don’t guess. We report. Our products are backed by Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). We prove that our solutions last for years, preventing the need for rapid replacement and reducing the structure’s footprint over decades.
